Whew!
What a sigh of relief. Not that I'm out of the woods just yet, but seeing that little heart beating reassured me that everything was going okay. It is such an unsettling feeling not knowing what is going on with your body.
I have never had an ultrasound this early and I could not believe how TINY he/she is. It was so neat to see the little heart beating, though. Truly a miracle.
This morning I've been feeling pretty nauseous. I couldn't even drink all of my morning cup of coffee. While this is typical of my pregnancies to not be able to handle coffee in the first tri, I am sad. I am not sleeping well and I really love my morning cup of coffee.
The new midwife that I saw seems really nice. Even though this is a larger practice, much like the one I went to with Marissa and Dylan, I felt like she gave me more attention and time than the other OBs I've previously seen. She said that she lives 3 minutes from the hospital and she delivers all of her babies. She said she is on call 24/7. She even said when the time comes she will give me her cell number so I can call/text her when we are on the way to the hospital. After the care I received while I was in labor with Dylan, I'm really excited to have a midwife. Since I do natural birth (pain med-free) I am really looking for a care provider who isn't pushing pitocin, not allowing me to walk around during labor, etc. I am hoping that this will be a good birth experience!
