3 Months
Happy 3 months, Dylan! You have embraced us with your sweet smile and doubled the love in our hearts. You are such a good baby. You love watching what your big sister is up to. I know you'll be chasing her around all too soon. Meanwhile, I will enjoy the snuggles and soft coos of your sweet voice. Love you "Chunk!"

Spring Door Wreath
Danny is at the CAPS game tonight. I was going to get some sewing done but I opted to sit on the couch, eat veggie straws and drink a beer instead. However, last Friday I hosted Ladies' Craft night with a few friends and made this "M" to go on my door wreath. It was so fun to get together with the girls and see what everyone came up with! I made this spring time wreath 3 or 4 years ago and the bow that was on it was sad and pitiful looking from the storm door pressing up against it. I would love to make a door decoration for every holiday but I just don't have the space to store it all, so instead I do seasons.
The babies are sleeping and it's time to hit the hay!

Happy Crafting!
Super Chunk
He's super chunky! But isn't he just the cutest thing you've ever seen? There may not be very many things I'm good at, but Danny and I sure do make some beautiful babies! =D Not sure I can convince him to have anymore...maybe in a few years. Seriously, though - how can you resist this little guy?

Chevron
My best friend, Cierra, has become quite the little globe trotter. I came across this yellow chevron fabric and it totally reminded me of something you would see on a bag in Target. Cierra loves bags, I dare not ask her how many she has. I mailed this a few days ago to California as an early birthday present since she will be in Germany on her birthday. It's just a small gift but I enjoyed making it and I hope she likes it!

Beer - ummm....check???
(Note: No alcohol was consumed by minors in this picture, this kid is all about the booby milk) :-D

Reflecting
I'm sitting here having my 2nd (daily) cup of coffee, thinking about how today is my last day of maternity leave. The past 12 weeks have flown by. There have been good days and bad days. Marissa has blossomed in so many ways and Dylan is just giving us a small sneak peek into the little man that he is going to be. I feel very blessed to have gotten this time with my little ones. I'm blessed that we were able to save enough money to not have a hardship with me taking 6 weeks of unpaid maternity leave. These are days that I will never get back and I'm glad that I can say I spent these precious days with no regrets.
Dylan will be 12 weeks old tomorrow. He has the sweetest smile and I love hearing him talk to us. He is quite the talker, but he favors me just a little (can we say momma's boy in the making?). :-D He coos and smiles when I talk to him. While he talks to Danny too, he tends to talk a little more for me. He hasn't really laughed much yet but when I change his clothes I always say "here comes the naked baby" and he gets the biggest smile on his face and lets out a little "heh" like he wants to start laughing. It's the cutest thing ever! I think he knows what's coming tomorrow because he has literally not let me put him down all day. I hope he does good for the sitter, hopefully big sis will take care of him and make him not miss me too much.
Marissa has quite the personality these days. Today I was feeding her lunch, mac and cheese with steamed spinach. Yes, I was trying to trick her into eating her vegetables. Did you know that she picked every last piece of spinach out and flung it to the floor? When I told her we don't throw our food (after her sippy cup went flying) she started throwing a tantrum. It was still 15 minutes until nap time so I asked her in my stern voice..."Do you want to go night-night?!" That little stinker nodded her head yes and said "night-night?" Ahh, so much for that tactic working. I swear I don't know where she gets it from. Must be the terrible two's a little early. So we set off to search for Teddy (Ted-eee) and Minnie Mouse (Mi-mow) to go night-night.

This is a prime example of the above mentioned tantrums. This was taken a few days ago...she was crying over something silly I'm sure and then she opened one eye just a little to make sure I was looking. I don't know who she thinks she's kidding!
Tantrums, terrible two's, throwing food, kicking, screaming, tears and all....I still love her!

Dress Crazy
It appears I've gone dress crazy with my sewing. This was a quick and fun nap time project for this rainy day. I grabbed a cup of joe and headed to the sewing table. I love the bright, sunny colors. Perfect for Spring!
Such a little lady!
I think she likes it.

Sunday Dress
I've been busy making "Sunday" dresses for Marissa! Here's a pink gingham dress with green accents:
Ric-rac
For this dress I took a too short t-shirt of Marissa's and up-cycled it into a cute little sun dress!
Before:
After:
I added pleats and a bow!
I think she likes it!
Pretty cute if I do say so myself! I need to go fabric shopping again. Next up on my sewing list is a sun hat for Dylan and more dresses for Marissa. I have a laundry list of things that I want to make. This whole sewing thing is quite addicting!

Model In Training
I tried getting a few photos of Marissa in her dress but didn't have much success. She is such a busy bee!
Not too bad for my first time making a dress!

Our Week In Pictures
She looks so serious in this picture, but I love it anyway.
Where you find Marissa, you will find "Teddy"
I *may* have a small obsession with baby feet.
D-Man, just a swingin', wavin' hello to momma!
Sunglasses: check
Hat: check
Water bottle: check
Someone's ready to go "outside" (Marissa says the cutest outside now; almost like she's asking a question when she says it).
Snack time! Playing outside works up an appetite.
That's our week in pictures!
Oh - I almost forgot one of my latest sewing projects. I made Marissa her very first purse and it just so happens to match mine.
She is such a busy body. I was trying to get a shot of her modeling her first purse but she wouldn't stand still, so this is what we got!
Checking out her purse. She already has her cell phone and sun glasses in it.
