Apparently it doesn't take much to entertain these two...
Marissa would close Grammy inside and then open the doors and pull her hair.
And they had a beat box competition:
My mom and dad were really excited to take Marissa to the Bergton Fair. It's all they've talked about since last year when they went. It's a quaint little fair, mostly geared towards kids. It's in the middle of nowhere on a mountain; it was really pretty! They had all the fried foods you could think of, including fried oreos that Danny had to try. Older folks sat and listened to the local music that was playing while kids and teenagers rode rides and played games.
Here Marissa is playing the duck game! It took her about 5 minutes to pick her first duck. The ducks go around the pond in a circle. She would spot one she wanted but before she could grab it she would lose it.
"Look at all these duck-ducks, mommy!"
Trying to grab one and missed.
"I can haz ducky?!"
Grandpup was trying to coax Marissa into picking one...
Yay! She finally picked one!
Marissa, Grammy, Grandpup and her Duck-Ducks she won!
Proud Granpup, it is not often you will get my dad to smile for the camera, much less take a picture. :)
Marissa and Grammy
Danny and I rode the Ferris Wheel together <3
Danny won Marissa a prize Monkey!
Watching daddy!
A little Monkey for our monkey.
This is where the fair was located:
As you can see it was very small and low key. It cost $1.00 per person to get in...where else can you go for $1.00? Sometimes it's the simple things in life! It's nice going to my parent's house sometimes because we get away from the hustle and bustle of our normal routine. Everyone is so laid back and move much slower down where they live. There's no keeping up with the Jones' and things are just simpler.
The Mountains
After the fair we headed home. Danny took a nap in the back seat while I drove and surprisingly Marissa didn't nap with him. We decided to stop for soft serve ice cream and they had the cutest little baby cones, the perfect size for Marissa!
She wasn't so sure about it at first
Then she dove right in!
Clearly my mom is having too much fun with this...
This was her first ice cream cone! I think Marissa wore more of it than she actually ate. She seemed to really like it though and I'm sure it felt good on her gums (considering a tooth popped through a few days later). It was a nice treat! We're still holding out on giving her cake until her birthday party/actual birthday though. That's one special occassion that I want to wait on.
My parents don't get to see Marissa that often, so they really enjoy their time with her. I am sure they were glowing from excitement of spending the weekend with her.
